Hammond Preamplifier Rebuild |
|
Filled with components, the AO28 is the "final link" before the Leslie. After 25+ years, many of the AO28 components have outlived a reasonable life expectancy, and should be replaced. Vibrato and percussion problems are usually traced to components in the AO28 which have failed, or are ready to fail. Much like a mixing console, the AO28 accepts input from several Hammond circuits, mixes them, then sends them to a final output stage. We also do certain modifications to Hammond preamps, such as adding a loop circuit, and fusing the power transformer. ProKeys preamp modifications add convenience and reliability. We do not alter the vintage Hammond circuitry or tone characteristics. click picture for fullsize view |
